Jamie Klaes
Founder & ChairJamie Klaes is an Alaska-based Airline Transport Pilot, flight instructor, aviation educator, and founder of Project Paneok. Raised in rural Alaska, she has dedicated her career to connecting young Alaskans with aviation education, mentorship, employment, and long-term career opportunities. Jamie also works as a Cessna sales associate with Northland Aviation and serves on the board of the Alaska Air Carriers Association.
Kate Pottebaum
Vice Chair Kate Pottebaum was instrumental in the inception of the first aviation class, serving as one of its original flight instructors. A CFI, CFII, and MEI, she spent several years as a Beechcraft 1900 Captain serving rural Alaska. She is deeply committed to mentoring youth and creating pathways into aviation careers. In her time away from this work, Kate is a Boeing 737 First Officer for Alaska Airlines.
Mary Creighton
SecretaryMary Creighton holds a private pilot certificate with an instrument rating and previously managed the day to day operations of one of Alaska’s largest flight schools. An experienced grant writer, Mary brings a strong understanding of aviation education, program development, and organizational operations. She is passionate about expanding access to aviation training and creating opportunities for the next generation of aviation professionals.

Tina Godsey
Family and Legacy AdvisorTina Godsey, of Iñupiaq descent, is Ellen Paneok’s youngest sister. She is passionate about carrying on Ellen’s legacy by inspiring and mentoring Alaska youth.
Known as “Raven” at Hagerstown Regional Airport in Maryland. Tina has built her aviation career working on the ramp, as a ticket agent, jet bridge driver, pushback team member, and occasional snack bar attendant. Tina is also an aspiring private pilot. Her close connection to Ellen’s legacy and firsthand aviation experience provide valuable guidance to the board.
Patty Yaska
Rural Community AdvisorPatricia Yaska, known to most as “Patty,” is of Athabascan and Yupik descent. She was raised primarily in urban Alaska until middle school, when her family moved to rural Alaska. There, she developed a deep appreciation for the subsistence lifestyle. On any given day, you may find her on the tundra picking berries or hunting and fishing along the river.
Patty is passionate about helping the next generation find their voice. Her son, RJ, began aviation classes at the age of 15. His success in becoming a licensed pilot continues to inspire rural Alaskan youth to pursue their own dreams of aviation.
